DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY!!
One Week Before Surgery
Take 500 milligrams or more of vitamin C daily; take this in addition to
any multi-vitamin you may be currently taking. Don’t take vitamin E.
Take no aspirin or ibuprofen products, (i.e. Bufferin, Anacin, Advil, Motrin,
Datril, Anacin-free). Tylenol is okay.
If having an uplift or a reduction - DO NOT SMOKE! You should have already
stopped at least a month before surgery. If you have not stopped you must
inform Dr. Martin and be very clear as to the increased risks (skin flap and
nipple necrosis) you face.
Have on Hand at Home
Fill all prescriptions given to you at your pre-op visit. For patients without
children, you may ask your pharmacists for non-childproof caps for your prescription
(this will make it much easier to open - important when you’re sore!)
Percocet or Lortab is for your pain
Keflex is your antibiotic - take all!
Robaxin is your muscle relaxer
Small bottle of Hibiclens (or other liquid surgical soap)
Extra pillows to sleep elevated
Extra -strength Tylenol
Take one Robaxin tablet with a sip of water the evening before surgery
Morning of the Surgery
Take one Robaxin tablet with a sip of water before coming to the office.
Wear NO make-up at all on your face. If you do, you will be asked to remove
it when you get here.
Wear casual loose clothing; something that buttons or zips in the front (i.e.
jogging suit) DO NOT WEAR JEANS. Wear socks.
DO NOT BRING JEWELRY OR VALUABLES TO THE OFFICE!! WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR
LOST OR MISPLACED ITEMS.
